BSC in Applied Physics at the Polytechnic of Coventry – England, with Masters in Materials Science and Environment and Development in Venezuela and Mexico, respectively, as well as specialties Properties of Materials and Environmental Impact in Switzerland and Japan. He has a PhD in Social Anthropology at the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City with a major in Cultural Ecology, and postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Research and Higher Studies in Social Anthropology (CIESAS) in San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas, where he developed research and accompaniments in Tzeltal communities in the northern highlands of Chiapas, advising organic coffee cooperatives and other organizations to strengthen the local livelihoods, besides being part of the group of professors of expertise in social anthropology and joint activities with researchers in lines of food sovereignty and local livelihood systems. He is currently Director of Regenerative Area Agroecology and Food Systems at the University of the Environment.
